Mr. and Mrs. George Hellbusch of Belgrade celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary Thursday, April 20 (1950) at their home in Belgrade with a 12 o'clock dinner and open house in the afternoon. The lovely three-tiered wedding cake, decorated in gold and roses and centered with a miniature bride and groom, was baked by a niece, Mrs. Herman Sweitz. The rooms were decorated in gold and white for the occasion. Acting as waitress were Marlene Naeve, Jackie Hellbusch and Elaine Hellbusch, granddaughters of the couple. In charge of the guest book were Mary Ann Landers and Gloria Rathje, also granddaughters. In charge of gifts were Miss Alva Hunteman of Leigh, a niece and Mrs. Louis Naeve of Lyons, a daughter. Mr. And Mrs. Hellbusch lived west of Belgrade (Nebraska) in the Timber Creek neighborhood 43 years and moved to their present home in Belgrade five years ago.
All their children and their families spent the day with them with the exception of their son, Otto, who resides at Vallejo, California. Rev. and Mrs. O. H. Zeilinger also were guests and Rev. Zeilinger gave a short talk.
